【摘要】:Arcing,partialdischarge,andlocalizedoverheatingintheinsulationsystemoftransformersresultinchemicaldecompositionoftheinsulatingoilandotherinsulatingmaterials.Thismaygeneratevariousgases,someofwhicharecombustible.Typically,gasesaregeneratedintheoilandthenpartitionedintothegasspaceaccordingtotheirindividualsolubilities.Gaseswhicharehighlyoil-soluble,suchasacetylene,maynotbeinsignificantquantitiesinthegasspaceuntilanincipientfaulthasprogressedtoaveryseriousconditionorfailureofthetransformer.Gasessuchascarbonmonoxideandhydrogenwhichhavelowsolubilitiesinoilcanmakeupalargefractionofthecombustiblegasesinthegasspace.Detectionofthesegasesisfrequentlythefirstavailableindicationofamalfunction.Portablecombustiblegasmetersareaconvenientmeansofdetectingthepresenceofgeneratedgases.Normaloperationofatransformermayresultintheformationofsomecombustiblegases.Thedetectionofanincipientfaultbythismethodinvolvesanevaluationoftheamountofcombustiblegasespresent,therateofgenerationofthesegases,andtheirrateofescapefromthetransformer.RefertoIEEEC57.104fordetailedinformationoninterpretationofgassingintransformers.1.1Thisfieldpracticecoversthedetectionandestimationofcombustiblegasesinthegasblanketabovetheoiloringasdetectorrelaysintransformersusingportableinstruments.Itisapplicableonlywithtransformersusingmineraloilasthedielectricfluid.Gasesdissolvedintheoilandnoncombustiblegasesarenotdetermined.Amethodofcalibratingtheinstrumentswithaknowngasmixtureisincluded.1.2Thispracticeaffordsasemi-quantitativeestimateofthetotalcombustiblegasespresentinagasmixture.Ifamoreaccuratedeterminationofthetotalamountofcombustiblegasesoraquantitativedeterminationoftheindividualcomponentsisdesired,usealaboratoryanalyticalmethod,suchasTestMethodD3612.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection7.
