【摘要】:Thispracticeprovidesamethodforthein-roadinstallationofaninductiveloopdetectorthatconsistsofwireloops,lead-inwires,andlead-incable.Thepracticeisintendedforinstallingwiresinsawcutsmadeintheroadwaysurfaceandnotforinstallingpreformedloopsthatmaybeencasedinaprotectiveenclosuresuchasplasticconduit.TypicalcomponentsofaninductiveloopdetectorsystemareillustratedinFig.1.Moderninductiveloopdetectorelectronicunitsarecapableofdetectingvehiclesevenifthewireloopislaidonreinforcingsteelbeforeconcreteisplaced.FIG.1InductiveLoopDetectorSystem(Notional)(2)1.1Thispracticedescribestherecommendedprocedureforinstallinginductiveloopdetectorsinsawedslotsinroadwaypavementforuseasatrafficmonitoringdeviceortoactuatetrafficcontroldevicessuchasatrafficsignal.Althoughthepracticeisnotintendedforinstallingpreformedloops,thepracticedoescontaininformationofvalueforthistypeofloopsuchasrecommendationsforthenumberofturnsofloopwire,numberanddirectionoftwistsinthelead-inwireandcable,splicelocation(ifneeded),andgroundingoptions.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
