【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulforcharacterizingtheflowbehaviorofasphaltemulsionresiduesandnon-Newtonianbitumens.However,sincenon-Newtonianviscosityvaluesdependonthelevelofshearingstress,itsduration,andtheshearhistoryofthematerial,anon-Newtonianviscosityisnotauniquematerialproperty.Instead,itisaparameterwhichischaracteristicofthefluid-viscometersystemundertheconditionsofthemeasurementprocedure.Therefore,comparisonsofnon-Newtonianmaterialbehaviorshouldonlybemadeusingapparentviscositiesdeterminedinsimilarviscometersundersimilarconditionsofshearingstressandstresshistory.Proceduresofsamplepreparationareespeciallyimportantforrepeatabilityorreproducibilityoftestresults.1.1ThistestmethoddescribesproceduresprimarilydesignedtodeterminetheapparentviscositiesofresiduesobtainedbydistillingasphaltemulsionsaccordingtoTestMethodD6997x0060;.Itisalsorecommendedforuseonnon-Newtonianasphaltsatanytemperaturewithinthecapabilityoftheapparatus.Thistestmethodisusefulincharacterizingrheologicalpropertiesofnon-Newtonianbitumensasafunctionofshearrateundertheconditionsofthetestmethod.Thistestisruninstraightopen-endtubeviscometers,normallyat60x00B0;C(140x00B0;F),butissuitableforuseatothertemperatures.Itisapplicableovertherangefrom5to50000Pax00B7;s(50to500000P).Note18212;Theprecisionforthistestmethodisbasedondeterminationsmadeat60x00B0;C(140x00B0;F).1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
